B/A United Revitilized for success

The Board of Directors for the “Apostles of Ghana Soccer”, Brong-Ahafo United (B/A United), after realizing that the club was losing it’s popularity as the producer of talented stars for the National teams has appointed a dynamic youthful Management Team headed by Mr. Kwadwo Ntim Micky Charles.

Speaking to the new Chief Executive Officer of B/A United, Micky Charles expressed his profound gratitude to the Board and the supporters of the club and pleaded for their support in both spiritual and financial to rejuvenate the team which was consistently losing its gorgeous image.

According to the CEO, B/A United F/C established in 1961, has always been known for its pioneering ways, and as such the Club would initiate a Development programme this year. He said looking at the history of the club, B/A United F/C has contributed immensely to the national course of football by producing top influential players than most clubs in the country, which earns the club the accolade of Apostles of Ghana Soccer. The CEO mentioned the likes of Agyemang Gyau, currently the president of the Old Footballers Association of Ghana and the late Atta Kwame, Adansi Fofie, Barnieh Senior and Junior, Agyemang Badu “the Soccer Articulator”, who featured prominently in the 1960s and 70s national teams. He continued the role call by mentioning stars like George Arthur, Dan Owusu, Alex Opoku, and Ntow Gyan who were all produced by B/A United F/C that featured in the national teams in the 1980s and 90s. Micky Charles disclosed that the key objective of the Management team was to develop home grown talents capable of playing in the club’s first team and national squads, but he quickly added that it would not just be about playing football but ensuring that a rounded individual is produced who has personal, social, spiritual and academic qualities to match his talents on the ball. He hinted that the sense of nurturing and the ultimate welfare of the players would mostly be provided by specialist coaches, a comprehensive medical team including physiotherapists, skills development assessors among others. The CEO continued that the ultimate goal for the club was to produce first team and international players whilst the primary goal was to make football fun, saying, “the football industry is primarily an entertainment industry therefore it makes sense then that if we are to develop our youthful players to provide fun and entertainment for spectators”. Micky Charles stressed that the new management team of B/A United F/C aims to increase the enjoyment of the game by improving techniques and understanding, explaining that technical development is fundamental to all players up until the age category of 17 years. According to the CEO, physical development was concentrated on thereafter and as the player becomes more skillful in both technical and physical aspects so their enjoyment of the games increases. Micky Charles noted that, to make the dreams come true, high personal standards were required if the players are to progress as valuable members of the community in the years to come. He said the management team of B/A united strives to set these high standard in the areas of discipline, stressing that players conduct themselves in the correct manner, showing respect to officials, supporters and opponents as the team play host or guest from time to time and of course both and off the field.

According to the CEO, the team demands strict adherence to timekeeping and dress code, control of their own development process by continuously practicing techniques and skills learned, team work, maintenance of healthy lifestyle by sticking to correct levels of training, rest and nutrition.

Finally he called on the supporters of the club to be devoid of violence and unfruitful accusations that would derail the progress of the club, but render their support massively to revamp the envious image of B/A United.
