Hamza Mohammed, Ablade Morgan, John Painstil and Moses Sekyi Dropped
Bafana Bafana have arrived in Kumasi where they will face the Black Stars in a joint World Cup and African Cup of Nations qualifier tomorrow. South Africa top Group 2 and will not want to damage their lead with a loss.
The Bafana Bafana touched down in Accra in the morning before emplaning for Kumasi where the game will be played.
The South African team would have their first training session at 15:00GMT Saturday at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.
The training is the first and the only one for the Bafana Bafana side who chose to arrive Saturday for the game oin Sunday.
The Black Stars are looking to end their no win jinx against the Bafana Bafana and to restore their qualification aspirations.
South African coach Stuart Baxter decided to change training pitches to a rougher turf in anticipation of the pitch at the Kumasi Sports Stadium following reports from Santos coach, Boebie Solomons whose side played King Faisal at the venue last month.
The pressure is on for Bafana Bafana and the coach, as several key players - strikes Shaun Bartlett, Benny McCarthy and first choice goalkeeper Hans Vonk - withdrew from the team. Bafana need to consolidate their lead at the top of the group.
Stanley Tshabalala, the team manager, said: "Tomorrow's match against Ghana will be one of the toughest in our group as you know that Ghana has lost to Burkina Faso, and playing at their home ground they will really want to do well and we are prepared."
Bafana have never lost to Ghana in five games, but both coach and players alike are well aware that tomorrow's encounter is not a foregone conclusion. "Ghana will always be looking for that first victory against South Africa as Chelsea were looking for their first victory against Arsenal and it came in a champions league game, when least expected. So records are very nice but they are no guarantees," said Stuart Baxter, the coach.
Meanwhile, Ghana coach Mariano Barreto has dropped Hamza Mohammed, Ablade Morgan, John Painstil and Moses Sekyi from the Black Stars squad.
