Barreto Smuggled out of Ghana?

Mariano Barreto had to be smuggled out of his post as manager of Ghana because of fears for his safety.

Barreto, who is now employed by he Portugese club Maritimo, was a hero after taking Ghana to the Olympics, but he would have faced the wrath of the fans if he'd made the move public.

Maritimo president Carlos Pereira said: 'We kept it secret, even though it was tied up last Thursday. It was necessary to think about the security of the new coach.'
