Former Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom says playing for Swiss side, FC Basel, was one of the most successful periods of his career.
The 30-year-old joined the side from Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko in 2009 and enjoyed a fabulous three-year spell at the St Jakob Park.
The experienced right-back, who currently plays for Georgian side Samtredia, has been recounting his time in Switzerland.
"It was one of the most successful periods of my career. I was newly married and expecting my first son, Samuel Junior. I was telling my wife: I believe this child will bring me success. Indeed, a few days after my son was born, I signed a contract with Basel," he said
"I played with this team in the group stage of the Champions League. I scored a goal against Roma, which is the dream of every player in the world, I will never forget that feeling. I think I am happy and lucky because of that."
Inkoom has returned to the pitch to revive his career after serving a FIFA ban over contract breaches.
