AshantiGold coach Bashiru Hayford believes Fatau Dauda’s return to the club have made them genuine title contenders for the 2014/2015 Ghana Premier League title.
Dauda has signed a one-year deal with the Miners just few days after terminating his contract with South African top-flight side Chippa United.
The 29-year-old has begun training with the side in a bid to win the number one slot for the upcoming campaign.
The club’s current first choice Robert Dabuo and head coach Hayford has welcomed his return to the club.
“I can confirm to you that Fatau Dauda is with us and even trained with us yesterday,” Hayford told GHANASoccernet.com
“The entire squad know him already and some even worked with him some time ago so there is no problem at all.
“The most important thing is that we have a strong squad that can bring us the results that we all crave for.”
AshantiGold last won the Ghana Premier League title in 1996.
