Bechem United will now have their live Premier League games telecast from the Bechem Stadium following their move from their former home in Kumasi.
The Premier League Board in collaboration with the league’s television rights holders have agreed on the venue adjustments and the changes will take effect from the club’s first home game in the run up to the Christmas season.
Bechem play Berekum Arsenals on December 18 and it will represent the first time a live broadcast is done at the venue. The club had pushed for their home games to be moved from the Baba Yara Stadium where they had played from the start of the season.
A winless streak gingered the management to finish up all required upgrades needed at the new venue. After assent from the PLB, the club had their first game at the weekend against Medeama, which they won 1-0.
The club’s Chief Executive, Kingsley Owusu-Achau, has been insistent that the club won because they were more comfortable at their new base. However, they still lie bottom of the log with four points from seven games.
