Ghana FA Cup champions Bechem United have confirmed the signing of Asante Kotoko striker Emmanuel Osei Carlos in a season-long loan deal, with an option to extend for one additional year.
The 24-year-old, who joined the Porcupine Warriors mid-way last season, became a benchwarmer after failing to break into the starting XI as the club finished fifth. He was able to make only four appearances out of 15 games in the second-half of the season and was regarded as surplus to requirement by new coach Zdravko Lugarusic.
"Bechem United are pleased to announce the signing of striker Emmanuel Osei Carlos from Asante Kotoko in a loan deal until the end of the season. We hope he will easily hit the grounds going and help us ahead of the upcoming campaign since we have the option to sign him permanently," a club statement read.
"He is a top player and will form a formidable striking pair with the strikers we already have around. We want to create a formidable squad that can compete very well in the league and the Caf Confederations Cup. Welcome to Bechem," the statement added.
Bechem have already signed Amed Toure, Saddick Abubakar, Diewisie Taylor, Owusu Bempah and former Hasaacas captain Daniel Egyin.
The 2017 GPL season is scheduled to start on February 11 after the league board postponed the initial kick off this week because of the Black Stars' participation at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Bechem will travel to Accra to lock horns with Great Olympics on opening day.
