Sekondi Hasaacas striker Eric Kwabena Bekoe insists he would not celebrate if he scores against Asante Kotoko in matchday five of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday.

Bekoe, 29, had a flamboyant time with Kotoko, winning the league's top scorer awards in 2008. However, he will face his former club as Hasaacas bid to overturn their recent poor away showing which has seen them losing against Wa All Stars and Wafa and conceding eight goals in the process.

“I know I will surely score but, as for jubilation, I have decided against that,” Bekoe told Class FM.

“Kotoko supporters have played a very vital role in my career and all the success that I have chalked in football are largely because of their support.

“Wherever I've been given an opportunity to talk, I shower praise on them. Therefore, I am also going to do something to show my love for them and my love for the club too,” he added.

Bekoe believes Hasaacas poor start to the season amounts to their poor preparations.

“The issue about Hasaacas’ poor performance is because of our preparation towards the league. We couldn’t get enough time to do more pre-season. Moreover, there are several new players that the coach is doing his best to blend and we hope it would be well.”

Bekoe has scored three goals in four games.
