Former Asante Kotoko striker Ben Acheampong has terminated his contract with Angolan side Petro Atletico, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report.
Ghana’s leading football website, www.ghanasoccernet.com, can confirm decided to part ways with the Luanda-based side with one year left on his contract.
Last October, the diminutive player claimed he was fed up with life at the club after accusing new coach Jose Dinis and making him to play in defence rather than attack.
“My contract would have ended this year but I have decided to terminate it. I want to look elsewhere but for now am training with Heart of Lions,” the 23-year-old told GHANASoccernet.com
Before signing for the Angolan giants he had undergone trial at Swedish side Helsingborg but was not handed a deal.
Acheampong has returned home and been training with Ghana Premier League side Heart of Lions as he prepares to maintain his fitness.
The highlight of his career so far was when he was invited for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia in June 2012.
