Accra, Mar. 18, GNA - Liberty Professionals was on Friday defeated 3-2 by a visiting national team of Benin in a special international friendly match played at the Dansoman Liberty Park.

The practice game that was aimed at preparing the Ghanaian side towards the new season saw them launching a late rally to pull two face saving goals after conceding three goals earlier in the match. The Beninnois also used the game as a preparatory one ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against the Elephants of the Cote D'Voire on Sunday, March 27 in Abidjan.

Saida Tchomogo shot the visitors ahead on the 10th minute mark with a piercing shot from a free kick just outside the penalty box which left Liberty's goalkeeper, Kotei Blankson grasping for breath.

Inspired by the early opener, the Benin team who bowed 1-2 to Ashantigold in a similar assignment on Wednesday, fought to kill off the game early with series of incursions that forced Liberty's rear of Wahid Mohammed, Agyeman Hanson, James Dissiramah and Stanislav Toklomili to work overtime to maintain the score line.

Their resistance was however short-lived as Rajack Omotojosi consolidated the visitor's lead 13 minutes later when he beautifully connected home a corner kick for the second goal.

Liberty's zeal for recovery from the recess was dealt a big blow when Zannou Meda delivered a cracker for side's third goal against the run of play.

The "Scientific Soccer lads" sensing humiliation, lifted up their game and managed to pull back two of the goals through substitutes Bawa Mumuni and Eric Bekoe in the last quarter of the game.
