Berekum Chelsea youth team beat German side VfL Bochum 11-10 in a marathon penalty shoot-out to win this year’s Yokohama Cup in Ostrach,Germany on Monday.
The young Blues drew 0-0 in regulation and all eleven players were spot-on with their penalty kicks on Monday evening.
Coach Kobina Amissah’s side recovered from an opening day 0-2 defeat to Hannover 96 on Saturday to beat Hungarian side Honved Budapest 1-0 the same day.
Berekum Chelsea drew goalless with Stuttgarter Kickers before a 1-2 semi-final win over FC Viktoria Pilsen from the Czech Republic.
VfL Bochum qualified to the final of eight team tournament after a 4-3 win over Hannover 96 on penalties in the other semi-final played on Sunday.
Other teams which played in the two-day event were 2010 winners Team Vaud from the Czech Republic and German side SSV Ulm 1846.
