Ghana international midfielder Bernard Mensah earned a rare start at Getafe as he played in their 3-1 Copa Del Rey win over Real Vallecano on Wednesday evening.
Mensah, who had made four substitute appearances in the La Liga for Getafe, was handed a rare start by Getafe boss Fran Escribá and he played until he was replaced in the 60th minute.
Getafe suffered a 2-0 loss from the first-leg and were hoping to turn the game around but Vallecano's goal provided a major setback in their campaign.
Mensah, an Atletico Madrid loanee, was making just his second start for Getafe for the entire season. His second start was in the reverse fixture.
