Black Maidens coach Evans Adotey rues World Cup failure

Black Maidens coach Evans Adotey has expressed his disappointment in his side's failure to clinch the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay.

The Maidens dazzled in the group stages but were eliminated from the competition in the quarter finals stage.

Coach Adotey charges drew 2-2 with Mexico before exiting the tournament after losing 4-2 on penalties.

"It still hurts that we are out and i am so disappointed because i felt we had a very good chance to win the tournament," coach Adotey stated on Happy FM.

"I have to congratulate the girls for the awesome display, they did very well and i am proud of them.

"We just have to keep this team and build their capacity because i know they are capable of doing big things in the future."

The Black Maidens arrived in Ghana on Tuesday following their exit from the competition.

Coach Adotey played his fourth World Cup and was determined to win the tournament.
