Didi Dramani and his charges secured a vital 2-2 draw away in Ethiopia in the first leg of the U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers courtesy an own goal from Hassabe Musi and Kate Adu.

The Black Princesses fetched the opener just five minutes into the game when Hassabe Muso hit the back of her own net after attempts to clear the ball failed.

The Ethiopians kept their composure in the game maintaining the momentum of play until Loza Abera leveled the scoring ten minutes later.

Loza Abera scored Ethiopia’s second and increased her personal tally to two in a 22nd minute with a magnificent strike which kept Ghana goalie Victoria Antwi at the wrong side of goal.

The Ethiopians kept the heat of Didi Dramani’s girls but the defense was resolute to deny the Ethiopians another goal.

The game looked set to end 2-1 in favour of the home side but a quick counter attack by the Ghanaians found Kate Adu with the ball with only the goalkeeper to beat and the Ghanaian did exactly that with ten minutes to bring proceedings to an end.

Ghana will be welcoming their Ethiopian counterparts in a fortnight for the second leg to determine who picks one of the only two slot given to Africa at the U20 Women’s World Cup.
