Overawed by the home humiliation at the hands of Lone Star of Liberia in one of the qualifying matches for the World Cup 2002, members of the Ghanaian national team have expressed the resolve to put the loss behind them and win the lone ticket in the group.

A Ghanaian journalist Ekowata Ekow jnr. reported over the weekend that the players who had been informed of formation of a new caretaker committee to replace the former Ghana Football Association (GFA) board led by Alhaji Jawula, said the Stars had expressed their wish to beat all contenders to World Cup finals.

According to the journalist, the Ghanaian players had underrated the Liberians until they won the match in Accra, by which time it was too late to make amends.

Ekow dislosed that the entire Ghanaians still rated the Eagles as the greatest hurdle to their quest for a maiden appearance at the World Cup but stated the Nigerian side would find the Stars hard nuts to crack at the Kumasi International Stadium on March 11 when both nations clash in the World Cup qualifier.

\"If Liberia could beat us in Accra what then stops us from doing same in their own country? It was not that they were better than us but they were just fortunate to have won that that match. As for the Nigerians most of the players are too old and we know how to deal with them,\" they chorused.

Ghana is currently third behind Nigeria and Liberia in Group 2 of the African qualifying series after three round of matches although the Black Stars have an outstanding match against Sudan this weekend in Khartoum.
