Amsterdam, April 3, GNA - The local component of the senior national team, the Black Stars who played against Metz, a French First division side on Wednesday are expected back in the country on Sunday. The players, mostly from Kotoko, King Faisal and Hearts of Oak are currently in transit in Amsterdam, Holland hoping to be connected to Accra together with their officials on Sunday.
The team got to Holland on Thursday, a day after drawing with the French team, but could not get on Board because the flights were fully booked.
But leader of delegation and Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Ben Koufie is working around the clock to get at least the playing body back to Accra to prepare for their continental Championships.
Hearts, Kotoko and Faisal would be in action next weekend in CAF competitions and would need the key players in the team's makeup. But there is the possibility that the officials would have to wait till either Monday or Tuesday to connect KLM to Accra.
Meanwhile, the protocol office of the GFA in Accra are also liaising with the KLM office in Accra to get the team on other flights back to Accra. The foreign players went back immediately after the match because they were closer to the match centre.
