Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan believes the Black Stars were lucky to edge a spirited Congo side on Tuesday in a friendly.
The Black Stars were 2-0 up by 19 minutes at the newly built Kintele Stadium in Brazzaville but a stirred up second half performance saw the Red Devils level the scoring.
But substitute Jordan Ayew delivered the coup de grâce in injury time with a sublime finish.
Gyan, who was also a second half substitute, admitted they laboured to down Claude Le Roy side.
“It’s a good game. We dominated the first half and they came back in the second half. They made some changes I saw some great talents from the Congolese side- they changed the game, they turned everything together but with our character that we showed, I would say we were a bit lucky to carry today,” the Shanghai SIPG striker told Joy FM.
Ghana will face Rwanda on Saturday in Kigali in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
