Nurnburg have confirmed that they have cancelled the contract of Isaac Boakye at the request of the Ghana international.
The announcement sees the 29-year-old leave Easy-Credit-Stadion six months before his deal was due to expire.
Nurnburg officials have not commented on Boakye's departure, but the club did wish the former Wolfsburg player good luck for the future.
A short statement on the club's official website read: "At the request of Isaac Boakye, the contract with Nurnberg was dissolved on Saturday 18th December."
Boakye was only used in two matches this season, while he made just nine Bundesliga appearances in the last campaign.
