Helsingborg striker Ema Boateng is confident he can replace compatriot David Accam who is away on international duty.
The 20-year-old is expected to carry the burden of scoring goals in the absence of his countryman who is fighting to make Ghana’s 23-man squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Swedish side are planning for life without their impressive attacker and his compatriots Boateng has accepted the challenge to be the key man in his absence.
“The injury has prevented me from running at full speed, but I’ve still been able to train quite well and has left panting,” he said
“The right edge is actually my favorite position but I can play on the left as well.
“So yes, I can replace David that way, but to make up for all of the qualities we lose without him, the entire team must contribute.”
The two have combined effectively since the start of the season, earning Accam a surprise call-up into the Black Stars provisional squad.
He has been tipped to make the squad after impressing heavily during his first training session with the side on Tuesday.
