Accra, Dec. 23, GNA - Midfielder Frank Boateng has returned to Kumasi Asante Kotoko after a half-season loan stint with Berekum Chelsea FC. The 26-year old was declared surplus after failing to make an impact with the Porcupine Warriors since joining from Sporting Mirren in 2009, but an improved performance has necessitated his recall.
An official of Berekum Chelsea told GNA Sports that Kotoko have made their intent official to sing on the midfielder.
The return of the lanky midfielder will afford Kotoko's trainer, Bog= dan Korak with varied options in the middle after a disappointing output in the first round.
Boateng was amongst the best performers during the 2008/2009 season as captain of Sporting Mirren, but he failed to produce a near replica of his trademark at Kotoko a year on and made a move to Chelsea and back to the Porcupine Warriors.
