Kevin-Prince Boateng will soon return to the Black Stars, according to Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic.

The coach was speaking at the press debriefing that saw him explain the happenings at the recent African Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Asked what he would do if he could start the campaign all over again, the Serbian admitted that he would "add younger blood" into the team, including Kevin-Prince Boateng.

The coach said: “You know very well Kevin (Boateng) sent a letter to the GFA to explain why he wants to miss sometime from national team. Everyone knows we need to do everything possible to make Kevin-Prince Boateng come back to the national team.”

The AC Milan player sensationally asked to step aside from national duty in November 2011 due to "health concerns". That was after the Serbian had fallen out with the player over several qualifiers.

Ghana's midfield has lacked a cutting edge and an additional striking option in recent months and the coach feels the player's return could help agument his team.

Whether Goran will still be coach, however, is still a hanging question, as the decision to sack or maintain him was deferred at the same press conference on Wednesday. A decision will be taken by the FA in a fortnight.

Ghana failed to reach its intended target of winning the African Cup this year, after the Serbian had asked to be sacked if he did not deliver the trophy.
