Bogoso Gold Mines supports Mines Stars

Prestea (W/R) Sept 30, GNA - Bogoso Gold Limited (BGL) is to support Mines Stars, a Division One team based at Prestea with 18 million cedis every month with effect from September to the end of the year.

The amount is to be used to pay allowances of the players of the team.

Nana Richard Hagan, Community Safety and Environmental Manager of BGL said this the presentation of the first cheque of 18m cedis for the month of September to Alhaji Imoro Idrisu, Director of Mines Stars at a ceremony at Prestea on Thursday. He said another amount would be presented to the team for the purchase of boots and jerseys, adding, these were measures that BGL has programmed to help boost the morale of the players to strive to reach the Premier level.

Nana Hagan said another monthly 4.5 million cedis would also be given to Golden Stars, a Second Division team based at Bogoso with effect from September up to the end of the year. He said BGL would help prop up Golden Stars to become the junior team of Mines Stars.

Alhaji Idrisu thanked BGL for the support given to the team. The coach of the team, Prince Afful, alias Coach Miller said the donation would boost the morale of the players and promised to win their three impending matches to pave the way for their qualification to the premiership.
