Bogoso Gold Supports Mines Stars

Prestea (W/R) Oct 12, GNA - Bogoso Gold Limited (BGL) has presented a cheque of 18.5 million cedis to Mines Stars as its fulfilment of its monthly promise of supporting the football club with effect from September this year up to December.

Nana Richard Hagan, Community, Safety and Environmental Manager of BGL who presented the cheque to the club said another amount of 4.5 million cedis for the same period would also be given to Golden Stars, a Second Division team based at Bogoso. He said the amount would be used to pay allowances for the members of the team and pledged BGL readiness to continue to support sporting activities in the area.

Mr Hagan said in May this year, BGL gave 10,000 dollars to Mines Stars to support the re-organizing of the team while an undisclosed amount of money would be voted for the purchase of boots and jerseys for the team all with the view of helping to boost the morale of the players to strive to reach the Premier level. He said BGL aims at propping up Golden Stars to become the junior team of Mines Stars.

Mr Anthony Akerson, Special Co-ordinator who Mines Stars who received the cheque thanked BGL for the support given to the team. It would be recalled that BGL presented the same amount to Mines Stars in September.
