Ghanaian veteran Samuel Kuffour is eyeing a return to the Italian Serie A following interest from newcomers Bologna.
The 32-year-old is a free agent after being told he had no future at Dutch outfit Ajax in June.
Bologna officials have approached Kuffour with a one-year deal, but they face stiff competition from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE.
Kuffuor has struggled since leaving Bayern Munich in 2005 to join AS Roma.
The Eternal City club sent Kuffor on loan spells with Livorno and Ajax where he failed to impress before being released on a free transfer.
Kuffuor spent 11 seasons with Bayern, raising from the ranks of youth team to a prominent team member who lifted the Champions League trophy with the club in 2001.
The Black Stars ace also scored the winning goal in the 2001 Intercontinental Cup and was named man of the match.
