Accra Hearts of Oak Strategic Committee member, Alhaji Braimah Akanbi has revealed the secret behind the club’s early success in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season (GPL).

The Phobians have hit the ground running in this year’s league, contrary to expectations, winning four out of the first five games, and the most outstanding coming from two goals down to beat Inter Allies 3-2 in the last league game.

And Alhaji Akanbi has revealed what has led yo the blistering start in an audio boom released by the club.

“The secret behind all these [early season glory] is just the commitment [of all the stakeholders],” Alhaji Akanbi said.

“You can see the players are well committed, the technical team are always motivating the players, everybody is dedicated to the work at hand and a whole lot of things that comprises a recipe for success.

“Ever since the season started, I can see lot of improvement within the team. I believe they can maintain [their form) and will do more for us.”

The MTN FA Cup takes centre stage this weekend, and Accra Hearts of Oak will host former GPL side, Wassaman United.

Alhaji wants the team to approach the game with all the seriousness it deserves to ensure the team starts on a good note.

He also called on fans of the club to throng to the Accra Sports Stadium to cheer the team to victory.

“We should not take the [Wassaman] game easy and we should not underrate them at all,” he said.

“We cannot be complacent because of the way we have been performing this time around. I think we have to take every match serious.”

“I am urging all fans of Accra Hearts of Oak to come to the stadium in their numbers; we really need them to continue and sustain our momentum.

“It’s very important that the fans come in their numbers because the moment they do that it will motivate the players.”
