Dundee United manager Craig Levein secured his 4th signing of the summer, when Ghanaian midfielder Prince Buabeng completed his move to Tannadice.

The 19-year-old trialist impressed Levein during pre-season training and was rewarded with a 3-year contract on Friday afternoon.

Prince Buabeng spent time in the Ajax youth system, but was unable to make the step-up into full-time football, because he couldn`t secure a valid work visa to play for the Amsterdam side.

However, after returning home to Ghana, he was able to use his family`s links with the UK to acquire a valid visa, which brought him to the attention of Dundee United.

"Prince has impressed us all during his trial period at the Club and in the couple of the organised games he`s taken part in," admitted Levein on the club`s official website.

"He`s a young player and although talented, will need time to develop and adapt to the Scottish game."

"I see him more as one for the future but, as with Morgaro Gomis, have high hopes that he may break through into the first team earlier than expected."

Bauben made his Dundee Untied debut in the friendly against Raith Rovers at Starks Park on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Willo Flood and a 2nd half equaliser from captain Barry Robson gave Dundee United a 2-2 draw with the Scottish 2nd division side.
