Accra, Oct 11, GNA - Officials of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) are scheduled to arrive in Accra on Sunday, October 14, to conduct the ninth inspection of the venues and facilities for the Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations.

The team to be led by Alhaji Issa Hayatou, President of CAF, will inspect facilities in all the four venue centres of Accra, Kumasi, Sekondi and Tamale.

Magnus Rex Danquah, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the LOC told officials and participating teams both in the twin cities and Cape Coast.

This would be followed by a trip to Kumasi the same day after inspecting the training pitches and the Essipong Stadium near Sekondi. The focus in Kumasi would also center on the training pitches and other facilities.

The team will fly to Tamale on Tuesday to inspect the facilities there and then return to Accra where they would hold discussions with Professor Dominic Fobih, Minister of Education, Science and Sports and members of the LOC Board.

"There will be further visits to the training pitches, and the Ohene Djan Stadium and hotels earmarked for the tourney". The team is expected to brief the media later.
