Cape Coast, Nov. 29, GNA- Cape coast Ghatel Ladies caused a sensation when they whipped Western Ladies 22-0 in the Central /Western Region Women's League match played at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Ghatel Ladies led 13-0 at half time.
On resumption, the Western team led by Joyce Baah and Patricia Buadu, dictated the pace for some time but poor finishing up front denied them goals.
Ghatel Ladies once again took over the attack from the 55th minute and banged in nine more goals through Mary Baidoo, who scored five and Frances Amankrah who netted four times to seal the doom of the Western Ladies.
In all, Mary Baidoo accounted for 11 out of the 22 goals registered by Ghatel.
In another development, Jukwa Anglican JSS emerged the Jukwa circuit soccer champions with 6 points in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District Basic Schools inter circuit's soccer competition held at Jukwa on Monday.
They beat Krobo D/A JSS 3-0 and spanked Watreso JSS 2-0. Methodist JSS who came second with four points thrashed Abrafo JSS 2-0 and drew 0-0 with Watreso D/A JSS.
Watreso JSS who took the third position with one point drew 1-1 with Jukwa Methodist JSS.
15 basic schools in the circuit participated in the competition. In the girls division, Methodist JSS emerged the champions with six points.
Anthony Yeful of Methodist JSS was adjudged the best male player of the competition, while Celestina Bentil of Methodist JSS was voted the best player in the girls division.
