Celtic could face stiff competition from four Premier League giants as they look to sign Rennes defender John Mensah.
The Ghana international revealed last month it would be a dream to move to England's top-flight league, but the SPL champions are believed to be readying a deal.
He said: “I would prefer the Premier League to any other league. I already speak the language and the game is physical."
Wigan, Portsmouth, Bolton and West Ham have all been linked with Mensah in recent months.
Mensah is under contract until 2010 but Rennes could be prepared to part with him for a fee in the region of 7.1million pounds.
