Cape Coast, Jan.10, GNA - The Central Region Division Two Middle League will kick off at the Robert Mensah's Sports stadium at Cape Coast from Sunday, January 23 to January 30.
Eight clubs will participate in the tournament designed to promote one club for the First Division.
According to the balloting conducted by the Regional Football Association at a pre-tournament technical meeting at the stadium on Sunday, the clubs will be grouped into two zones.
In Zone One, Elmina Coconut Grove Sharks will meet Real Moree United while Mankessim Mir FC vie with Eyisam Lumumba Stars on Sunday 23. In Zone Two, Agona Swedru Young Rangers will clash with Ofaako Odupon while Winneba Soccer Intellectuals meets Agona Fankobaa on Monday, January 24.
On Tuesday, January 25, Real Moree United will sort it out with Mankessim Mir FC while Lumumba Stars meets Coconut Grove Sharks. Agona Swedru Young Rangers will meet Winneba Soccer Intellectuals while Agona Fankobaa meet Ofaako Odupon on Wednesday, January 26. Mir FC will meet Elmina Coconut Grove Sharks while Lumumba Stars take on Moree United on Thursday, January 27.
Winneba Soccer Intellectuals will meet Ofaako Odupon while Fankobaa meet Young Rangers on Friday, January 28 to climax the tournament. According to Mr Mathew Doe, Chairman of the Regional Football Association, (RFA) the winners of the two zones will engage in a final match for the winner to be promoted to the First Division.
He appealed to the participating clubs to endeavour to pay their participating fee of 900,000 cedis before close of work on Monday, January 10.
Mr Doe said the RFA would be compelled to replace any club that will fail to make full payment of the participating fees and that all debts owed should be paid by the stated time frame or the affected club would be repalced with the next club on the league table.
