Cape Coast, Aug. 28, GNA - The Central Regional Division Two Soccer League would commence on Sunday, September 18, 2005. Mr Mathew Doe, Chairman of the Central Regional Football Association (RFA) who disclosed this to the GNA Sports on Sunday said 18 clubs have so far registered to participate in the League.
He expressed concern over the lukewarm attitude of some Clubs in the Central Region towards the on-going registration of players since the registration exercise started about four months ago. Mr Doe said the RFA takes a serious view of such un-cooperative attitude of the Clubs, which has the potential of dislocating the programme and making it difficult to meet the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) dateline for the declaration of the Regional Division Two champion.
He said registration of players for the 2004/2005-football league season would temporarily come to a close on Friday, September 2 2005 and that all processed registration licences are to be sent to the GFA for validation. In this regard, he said, the Association wishes to emphasise that any club that fails to comply with this directive would not be allowed to participate in the league.
