Berekum Chelsea FC have opted for the Accra Sports Stadium as their home venue for their group stage campaign in the African Champions League after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) failed to grant them permission to use their favourite Golden City Park in Berekum.

The dethroned Premier League champions will thus begin their ‘money zone’ campaign with North African giants Zamalek of Egypt on Saturday, July 7, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The debutants are housed in Group A alongside Zamalek, TP Mazembe (DR Congo) and Al Ahly also of Egypt, for the competition reserved for winners of the various leagues across the African continent.

Chelsea reached this stage after defeating Liberian side LISCR, Raja Casablanca of Morocco and Coton Sport of Cameroon.

Meanwhile information gathered by GNA Sports indicates that Saturday’s meeting is expected to give free admission to all the various supporters groups as the Berekum-based team seeks to create a 'home-away from home'.**
