After days of hard bargaining between the hardworking IMC of Asante Kotoko and the management of King Faisal, Yusif Chibsah has been released to play for the Porcupine Warriors.

The deal was concluded on the eve of Kotoko’s titanic opening league game against Real Tamale United at Bolgatanga, and that enabled the player to feature for the Porcupine Warriors in the game against RTU late in the second half, having arrived there a few hours to the commencement of the game.

The two teams agreed on an undisclosed transfer fee that was acceptable to both parties, and they also agreed to issue a joint statement on the transfer. Reliable sources, however, have it that the figure is nowhere near the ?200 million that King Faisal initially demanded.

At a point, the talks were threatened by some unacceptable demands of King Faisal, including the release of Nana Frimpong, Godwin Ablordey and Abass Inusah to them for free in addition to the ?200 million they placed on Chibsah. During the final stages of the negotiations, Faisal renewed their bid for Abass and Ablordey. This time, however, the Kotoko negotiating team made it clear that the request should be de-linked from Chibsah’s transfer.

Accordingly, negotiations were due to open on transfer fee of the two players at the time of going to press.
