Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfield dynamo, Yusif Alhassan Chipsah, is on his way of signing a two-year deal for a Turkish Premier League side worth $400.000.
Chipsah, who has been on the shopping list of almost six European sides including his former Israeli side is expected to earn an annual income of $ 200.000, should the deal be signed next week.
According to information gathered, officials of the Turkish club were impressed with the former skipper of Ghana’s Olympic male soccer team, the Black Meteors, performance in Israel where he featured consistently for his Israeli side.
Chipsah is reported to have excelled in Israel during his stay last season where he was voted man-of-the-match on five occasions.
In a telephone interview with Chipsah this afternoon over the Turkish deal, the player confirmed the deal but declined to mention the name of the Turkish club claiming negotiations are on-going and will be proper if the named is withheld for now.
When questioned to give details of the deal, all he said was ‘yes it is a Turkish Premiership side but we are still talking about the deal’
However, investigations conducted has it that the deal is about ninety per cent complete and the former Prempeh college student who holds a second class-upper Diploma in accounting from the Kumasi Polytechnic may be heading to Turkey to join Black Stars skipper Stephen Appiah.
Before their departure to Germany for a two-week training tour, officials of Ghana’s Kumasi Asante Kotoko had attempted to sign the player who featured for them in the CAF Champions League last August before leaving for Israel but Kotoko officials were not able to meet the financial demands by the player and his agent .
