THE head coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars, Claude LeRoy has stressed that he would only concentrate on his aims and aspirations as national team coach and not pay much attention to his critics. According to him, he would not allow the outbursts from his critics derail his team preparations since he believe they are only out to downplay his tactics and mode of selection into the senior national team and nothing else. In a brief interview with Coach Le Roy at the team's last training programme at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium prior to the game against the Hawks of Togo, he reiterated that his decision to include several young players in his squad was irrevocable. He said he was confident that they will live up to his expectations during the 4-nation tournament currently underway in Ghana.

He said he was confident that they will live up to his expectations during the 4-nation tournament currently underway in Ghana. LeRoy added that all his inclusions are quality materials who are capable of leading the nation to glory. LeRoy again said that he was very confident that the young players including Dede Ayew and Daniel Opare are all credible materials full of youthful exuberance which when managed professionally, will produce better results for the nation in the years to come. On why he left out several tested players like Sam Johnson and Eric Addo, he stressed that he could not afford to include players that would not play any vital role in his quest to win the Nation's Cup for Ghana hence his decision to pick only those he felt could be up to the task. He however added that selection into the senior national team is only based on consistent performances and dedication to duty and not on personal contacts as is being suggested in certain quarters.
