Ghana U20 talisman Clifford Aboagye is hoping to return from injury in time before the Black Satellites’ round of 16 tie on Wednesday.

The Granada CF midfield steamroller was forced off the game after the end of the first 45 minutes during Friday’s narrow victory over Group B minnows Panama.

Aboagye, who is playing his second FIFA U20 World Cup tournament, has had his influence count for Sellas Tetteh’s Satellites since turning up for the second group game against pre-tournament favourites Argentina.

“I’m hoping to be fit and return for the next game on Wednesday,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

The 20-year-old was replaced by Red Bull Salzburg’s David Atanga before the resumption of the game after the break as he could not continue with muscle strain.

Aboagye was named among the best three players at the last FIFA U20 World Cup tournament which took place in Turkey in 2013.
