Emmanuel Clottey may be the leading goal scorer in the ACL with 12 goaLs and may be having a monster season but Al Ahly coach Hossam Al Badry claims he is overrated.
Al Ahly lost 2-0 to TP Mazembe on Sunday in the penultimate match of the group stage of African Champions League and the coach shared his thoughts on his teams lack of attack and the Ghanaian 'wunderkind'.
“Clottey is a good player but he is not the super attacker everyone makes him out to be. I saw him in the last match and though I liked his way of playing I insist that he not the best we have faced” Al Badry told supersport.
”I even spoke with our former Ghanaian player Felix Ahmed Aboagye and he agreed with my opinion. But I would still like to have a player like Clottey in my team but his club absurd price on him pretty much negates that from happening” he said.
“I badly need a midfielder and a good attacker. I can wait on the midfielder but I can’t with the forward. My team suffers because of this.” he added
As we know Al Ahly had started negotiations with Chelsea to obtain the services of the deadly attacker Clottey but nothing happened when both could not agree on a price.
