Club Africain close in on Assifuah and Salifu

Tunisian side Club Africain are close to signing Ghana U20 duo Ebenezer Assifuah and Siedu Salifu.

According Shems FM, the Red and Whites are determined to cause a major transfer coup to bring the promising youngsters to Tunis.

Assifuah, a striker, emerged the top scorer at the just ended FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey and has been linked with a move to Europe.

The 20-year-old managed to score eight goals in his first season in the Ghana Premier League for Liberty Professionals.

Midfielder Salifu, who has been likened to Ghana and Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien, also shone at the World Cup where the Black Satellites won bronze.

The 19-year-old has experience playing in the top-flight after featuring for Wa All Stars last season.

Club Africain finished fourth after the Tunisian Ligue 1 play-offs.
