Clubs and players summoned to appear before Appeals Committee

Accra, June 8, GNA - The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has summoned Brong Ahafo United and eight Club chairmen to appear before it for a hearing on Thursday, June 11, 2009. A statement signed by Emmanuel Gyimah, Deputy General Secretary of GFA copied to GNA Sports said the summons is in respect of cases against the affected clubs and officials.

According to Mr Gymah, B.A. United's call is in respect of a decision by the Disciplinary Committee in the protest for using an unqualified player in the person of Douglas Yeboah. The respondents are the chairmen of Aduana Stars, Berlin FC, Bechem United and the player, Yeboah, who are all expected to appear before the Committee.

The other case concerns the Chairman of Maxbees FC regarding the Disciplinary Committee ruling in a case against Power FC with the respondent being the chairman of Power FC. The Appeals Committee has also summoned Second Division outfit, FC Barbarossa with respect to the Players' Status Committee on the declaration of player James Dontoh as a floating player. The player in question, Dontoh is also expected to appear before the Committee. 08 June 09
