Fred Pappoe, Chairman of the Management Committee of the Local Black Stars, has said coaches of the various national teams are exposed to a lot of dangers due to non-payment of salaries, bonuses and allowances.

Testifying before the Justice Senyo Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry on Friday, Pappoe, members of the technical team have not been paid their salaries and allowance for months adding that they are still owed monies from the last Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in South Africa.

According to Pappoe, this exposes the coaches to several evils when it comes to player selection as well as discipline in camp.

He said, “It becomes very difficult to even question the coach if he is late for assignment or doing something which is not good for the team”.

Pappoe added, “My Lord, the other time coach Opeele was here to testify that he has not been paid for months after serving as the assistant coach of the Black Starlets.

“That is exactly the situation. He was not lying it is actually the truth”. Pappoe added.

Commenting on the impending Club Licensing policy, which seeks to provide a cut-off point for salaries for players.

According to Pappoe, that policy will be diplomatic since most of the clubs are managed from individual pockets.

He said only few clubs have proper salary structures whilst the rest are just managed through the benevolence of individuals.
