Accra, Oct 23, GNA - The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) and Coca Cola Company Limited on Thursday launched the next Top 4 Competition at a short ceremony in Accra.
The competition, to be dubbed "Coca Cola Top 4", has the company as title sponsors having beaten Somotex Ghana Limited to it with a package of 1.2 billion cedis.
.. The package which is a massive improvement on the Somotex 400 million cedis for the last edition of tournament is expected to add more value and excitement to the competition.
Mr. James Boateng, Sales and Marketing Manager of the company who announced the package said his outfit was poised to transfer the high quality that goes with products to the competition in their quest to contribute to the development of soccer in the country.
The manager said the company would be working closely with GHALCA to ensure the success of the competition because they are bent on seeing an improvement on the previous one.
Coca Cola who was a co-sponsor of the last championship said it would welcome interested companies to join forces with it to make this year's competition a grand success.
Mr. Joseph Yaw Appiah, chairman of GHALCA said his association was impressed with the package saying the GHALCA was proud to be associated with the sponsors.
He said useful lessons were learnt from the last competition and gave the assurance that new ideas will be injected into this year's edition.
The chairman said the purse for participating clubs will see an overwhelming improvement adding that details of the package will be announced in due time "We are making everything possible to prevent crowd violence and improve upon the media accreditations and the media right problems that we encountered in the last edition.
Somotex Ghana Limited sponsored the last competition which was dubbed the LG Top four and was won by Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
This year's participants are yet to be known as the Kinapherma Premier league has seven more games to end.
