Congress adopts GFA Code of Ethics

A new governing document, GFA Code of Ethics, to regulate the conduct of football officials has been passed into law effective Thursday September 27, 2012.

The 37-Article, unanimously voted for by the membership of the Ghana Football Association's Congress, will be applicable in every football tier.


The passing of the document is to help the GFA safeguard the integrity and reputation of football in Ghana.


It will also help protect the image of football and it's own from harm or jeopardy as a result of of immoral or unethical methods and practices.

Among the aspects that the Code of Ethics will help deal with includes bribery, forgery and falsification, loyalty and confidentiality, eligibility and dismissal and betting.


The document which is only applies to all officials subject to statues of the GFA gives parties affected by decisions of the Ethics Committee the right to appeal.
