Patrons of the just ended Zone 3 qualifier of the ongoing MILO U-13 Champions league have advised Corporate Ghana to emulate Nestle MILO’s countless effort in developing grass root soccer in Ghana.
Addressing participating schools and spectators at the closing ceremony of the Zone 3 qualifier of the at the Adisadel School Park, various speakers took turn to enumerate the importance of Corporate Ghana to team up with organizations such as the Ghana Education Service (GES) to draw up programmes and events that will help development raw talents to feed the various National teams in the country.
“We always say Ghana is blessed with talents, but how can these talents grow to meet international standards if we don’t go the extra mile to make available all the necessary tools as well as training programmes such as the MILO Soccer Clinic and competitions such as the MILO Champions League” said
Mr. Emmanuel Domenya, National P.E Coordinator of the Ghana Education Service.
He again expressed on behalf of the Director General of the Ghana Education Service, their profound gratitude to Nestle MILO® for putting together such a platform for the kids across the country to exhibit their raw talents.
At the end of the 2-day competition, St. Philips International School led the Western Region to defeat Central region’s West Ridge from Kasoa in the finals.
St. Yawmetwa had to depend heavily on the brilliance of their skipper Emmanuel Agyeman who dazzled patrons with his brilliance and skills to see his side win by five goals to four (5-4) during the penalty shoot outs. The game ended in a stalemate in regulations time.
The twelve participating schools were Nkatiso D/A Primary, Stepping Stone Primary, Akweikrom D/A Basic, Edumadzie M/A Basic, Swedru A.MA. Basic, Jamara D/A Basic, West Ridge International School, Gyangyanadze M/A Primary, Azuleti D/A Primary, Kansaworado Catholic Primary, Egyam, and St. Philips Preparatory School.
All the twelve (12) participating schools were rewarded with MILO branded footballs. However first and second placed teams went home with cash prizes and cases of MILO products.
