Court adjourns Olympics Injunction case

Accra, April 6, GNA - An Accra High Court on Tuesday adjourned the case involving Mr David Fugah, a Board Member of Accra Great Olympics and the Appatu Plange appointed Interim Management Committee of the club. Her Lordship Mrs F. Owusu-Arhin rescheduled the case for Thursday, April 8 and asked the parties involved in the case to sort themselves out before that date.

Mr Fugah filed an application of injunction against Mr Ernest Appatu Plange, a majority shareholder in the club and members of the five-member Interim Management Committee (IMC) appointed by him not to hold themselves as management members of the club. The court earlier placed an injunction on a charity friendly match between Olympics and Hearts of Oak but the injunction was not adhered to and the match was played. As a result, the plaintiff again filed an application for contempt against the six defendants.

The decision of the court to reschedule the case was believed to have been based on a meeting held in the chambers before the commencement of the case. The defendants in the case are, Mr Ernest Appatu Plange, the Majority shareholder of the club, Mr John Teye, Mr Fritz Baffour, Mr Jerry Djangmah, Mr George Heward Mills and Mr R.O. Solomon.

In the early hours of the morning the premises of the court was besieged by a large number of supporters of Olympics with some of them carrying placards with inscriptions against Mr Fugah and Frank Davies but the police were there in their numbers to avert any form of violence by the demonstrating supporters.
