Twifo Praso, (C/R) March 26, GNA - Two football fans who insulted the Twifo-Hemang-lower -Denkyira District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Samuel Agyeibie-Kessie, were on Thursday bonded for six months to be of good behaviour.

The two, Kwadwo Tawia and Kofi Atta, both from Twifo-Praso who pleaded guilty to offensive conduct but begged the court for leniency, will go to jail for two months each if they break the bond. Mr Seth Bio Nyamekye, the District Magistrate in passing sentence warned that he will deal drastically in future with any football fan brought before him for any unsportsmanship behaviour.

The case by the prosecution was that on March 11 this year, a soccer gala was organized in the District as part of Ghana's 50 Independence Anniversary celebrations.

It said during the final match between the 91Pusher Boys' and =91Station Boys', an infringement was awarded against 91Station Boys' and fans of 91Station Boys protested vehemently and invaded the field of play.

The action of the fans held up play for some time and when the DCE tried to cool down tempers, the two fans attacked and insulted him. At the time of the incident, 91Station Boys' were down by a lone goal.
