Danbort set to quit Division One League over poor officiating

Division One side, Danbort football club, have decided to withdraw from the ongoing Division One League due to bad officiating.

The Nungua based club could not just understand why their plea to the referees appointment committee to change referee Juliet Appiah in their game against Dreams fc last Sunday at the Nungua town park proved futile.

The game that saw Dreams FC winning by 2-1 really generated lots of concerns after referee Juliet Appiah showed Danbort goalkeeper a red card in the second half of the game, obviously officials of Danbort fc were not happy about the decision of the referee and protested vehemently but the decision still stood seeing Danbort ending the game with 10 men.

Head coach of Danbort fc Evans Adjei has confirmed that the owner of the Nungua based club have decided to withdraw from the ongoing Division One League due to poor officiating.

“Its true he has told us that he is quitting football which obviously will be a big blow to us as a club. We went to training today but even our equipment officer did not turn up hence we couldn’t hold the training and from the look of things it does not look like he is rescinding his decision but we just hoping he agrees to come back since some respected personalities are in talks with him to come back,” Adjei said.

Danbort fc lies 7th on the league in zone 3 with 25 points.
