Daniel Opare signs for Augsburg

GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report that Ghana defender Daniel Opare has ended his stay with Portuguese side Porto after signing a three-year deal with Bundesliga side Augsburg.

The former standard Liege man ends a frustrating spell with the Portuguese side despite arriving at the club a year ago with huge potential and expectations.

A combination of injuries and loss in form meant the Ghana international was afforded little playing time at the Estadio Dragao.

Opare spend the second half of last season on loan with Turkish side Besiktas in a desperate bid to revive his career but after a bright start injury struck again limiting his impact on the field.

The 24 year-old has now terminated his contract on mutual consent after being demoted to the Youth side.

He is now likely to fill the void left by fellow Ghana international Baba Rahman who is heading to English champions Chelsea.
