Dauda looking for loan move

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Fatau Dauda tells F411 that he may have to leave the club on loan in order to ensure his place in Ghana's World Cup squad.

After being told by Pirates manager Roger de Sa that he is third choice at the Soweto outfit, Dauda's hopes of getting any game time appear to be slim.

Despite his lack of action at club level, Dauda has retained the number one jersey for the Black Stars.

However, the 28-year-old is all too aware that this may not continue to be the case unless he plays regularly.

"I have spoken to the coach and he has assured me my time will come, but we have a World Cup to play next year which I cannot miss for obvious reasons," he told F411.

"I have to start playing, I have to work hard in training and do my best, but if I do all this and am not getting playing time I will look elsewhere to go on loan."

Dauda turned out for Ghanaian outfit Ashanti Gold SC prior to joining the Sea Robbers and has not ruled returning to his homeland - although at this stage he is more interested in the amount of playing time he will get than where it is that he gets it.

"The loan can be everywhere, be it back home or still in South Africa, I just want to start playing," he asserted.

"I cannot warm the bench whiles am Black Stars number one, I have to start playing to keep my sharp.

"I have not spoken to any club in Ghana, I respect my club and I respect what they have done for me since I moved here. All am saying is that I want to start playing the game I like best," added the shot stopper.
