Accra, Aug 10, GNA - Ghana's Deaf football team, the Black Wonders will on Sunday, August 15, take on their South African opponents in South Africa in the first leg of the qualifying series of the World Deaflympic Games slated for Melbeourne, Australia early next year. A team of 18 players and seven officials will leave Accra on Friday, August 13, for the match.
Among the players making the trip are Isaac Agyeman, Bernard Kwarteng, Eric Sarkodie, Anyass Awudu, Isaac Eshun, Johnny Oti Agyei, Alfred Deho, Prince Buronya, Alexander Okyere, Yahaya Grushie, Teddy Brown, Opoku Gyasi, Kwame Asante and Samuel Opuni. The rest are Odartey Lamptey, Godwin Oti Ampabeng, Alhaji Iddrissu and Isaac Agyemang.
Dramani Mas-ud Didi will lead the technical team and will be assisted by Winfred Chartey Annan with Godfred Nortei Nortey as the interpreter whilst Anne Doe will be the physiotherapist.
Other members of the delegation are E. Harry Hornsby-Odoi, leader of delegation, Jonathan Amuah, assistant head of delegation and Mr Samuel Asante, General Secretary of the Ghana Disabled Sports Association. The two teams will vie for the only slot allocated to Africa in a two-leg affair and the second leg is scheduled to take place in Ghana in two weeks time.
