Chairman of the Premier League Board, George Amoako, is adamant the set date for the start of the next league season will afford teams enough time for preparation.
The PLB confirmed the next season will commence on December 18, 2016 bearing any unforeseen circumstances.
The next league season will be preceded by a Super Cup clash between League Champions Wa All Stars and MTN FA Cup winners Bechem United.
However, Amoako insists there is ample time for all the teams to put themselves together.
“There is nothing wrong with [the date] as I see it,” Amoako told Ultimate FM.
“Teams will have enough rest – prepare during pre-season, with the Ghalca G-6 scheduled to start before the league, so teams will prepare well ahead of the new league season.”
Amoako further stressed that the PLB is working assiduously to bring the calendar for the Ghana League in harmony with the rest of the major leagues across the world.
“The other European leagues have started already and we [Ghana] will start in December and it will be difficult to synchronize with them, but we will be bridging the gab between them,” he added.
Wa All Stars won the 2015/16 premier league for the first time in the clubs history, amassing 51 points in the process.
